New members

Our Club president welcoming two new members into Lichfield Rotary Club, which meets weekly at lunch time in the Dog Inn Whittington.
Celebrating the occasion was Elizabeth Wall the club’s president in centre and looking at the picture right hand side is Patrick Walsh who has been a member of Rotary at Rugby lunch club for some 14 years before departing to Lichfield recently and now lives in Fradley. He is quite a stalwart in his former club membership as he took on the duties of Club Secretary for several years plus international foundation chair and served on club Council for 12 years. He elected NOT to become President in his 14 years of membership as he was keen to focus on the positions he held. He retired from Marconi in 2002 where he held the position of Manufacturing Director.
On Elizabeth’s left of our picture is Chris Parry who was a very active member of Bewdley Rotary Club for three years and also a previous member of the Round Table in Gainsborough, Woodbridge and Abergavenny. He now lives in Whittington and hence his move to Lichfield Rotary Club and works as a professional Will Writer and Estate Planner.
Both men joined within a short time of each other in April of this year. The club which is a registered charity is keen to have more new members. President Elizabeth said “ Since the pandemic it has been very difficult to recruit new members for many clubs and associations of all kinds but hopefully our numbers will start to improve in the near future.” She added, “ For any inquiries do please contact our membership secretary John Cole on 07366 346740” .
